Firefox 111.0 Released! Native Notifications for Windows & Better Web App support

Mozilla announce the new 111.0 release of its Firefox web browser yesterday!

There seems no big new features in the release. It enables native notifications support by default for Windows user! To use this feature, make sure you have enabled “Get notifications from apps and other senders” option under Settings -> System -> Notifications & actions.

Also, it enables origin private file system access, new API that enables web applications to store and retrieve data from and to the filesystem in a sandbox.

Firefox Relay users can now opt-in to create Relay email masks directly from the Firefox credential manager. Though, user must be signed in with your Firefox Account.

Other changes in Firefox 111.0 include:

  • New locales: Silhe Friulian (fur) and Sardinian (sc).
  • Support the rel attribute on form elements.
  • Various security fixes.
