The final beta of Ubuntu 20.10, codenamed “Groovy Gorilla”, was released last night on Oct 1. The iso images of Desktop, Server, and official flavors available to download.
This beta release includes Linux Kernel 5.8 and updated version of core applications. It will be supported for 9 months until July 2021. If you need Long Term Support, it is recommended to use Ubuntu 20.04 LTS instead.
For the final release, Ubuntu 20.10 is scheduled to be released on October 22.
This Beta release includes images from not only the Ubuntu Desktop, Server, and Cloud products, but also the Kubuntu, Lubuntu, Ubuntu Budgie, UbuntuKylin, Ubuntu MATE, Ubuntu Studio, and Xubuntu flavours.
The Beta images are known to be reasonably free of showstopper image build or installer bugs, while representing a very recent snapshot of 20.10 that should be representative of the features intended to ship with the final release expected on October 22nd, 2020.
