The Second Point Release of Ubuntu 22.04 LTS is Out!

Ubuntu 22.04.2, the second point release of the latest long term support version is out!

Ubuntu announced the release of Ubuntu 22.04.2 for Desktop, Server, and Cloud products, as well as flavors this Friday.

The new release fixed various hardware-specific installation issues for its CD images. There are as well upgrade, desktop and various security fixes.

For Ubuntu Desktop, the “Software & Updates” tool now correctly show the apt gpg keys in the “Authentication” tab. System Settings (aka Gnome Control Center) now has 5G connection support. Gnome desktop and GTK version have point release updates. And, there are various fixes, including slow refresh rate when AMD GPU screen in reverse prime mode, and RDP remote control.

Other changes include:

  • Replace the Livepatch step with Ubuntu Pro in the initial setup dialog.
  • Enable the hwe kernel by default in desktop and server.
  • Add Elan fingerprint device support.
  • Support Linux Kernel 6.0 for NVIDIA 510, 515 drivers.
  • Support Intel IPU6 MIPI camera
  • Realtek 8852c WiFi/BT firmware support
  • Add support for Intel DG2 hardware.
  • GPU firmware for AMD Ryzen 7000 desktop processors.

Get Ubuntu 22.04.2

For Ubuntu 22.04 and Ubuntu 22.04.1, just install all the available updates by Software Updater then you get it.
