Mozilla Firefox 117.0 is available to download now! Let’s see the changes in the new rapid release of this popular free open-source web browser.
According to the release note, the new Firefox 117.0 extended credit card auto-fill support for users IT, ES ,AT, BE, and PL locales.
Firefox now has a dom.event.contextmenu.shift_suppresses_event
option in about:config
to prevent the context menu from appearing. Which is enabled by default and useful to avoid undesirable outcomes on sites which specify their own behavior when pressing shift+right-click.
For macOS users, there’s new option ‘Use the tab key to move focus between form controls and links‘ added in the settings page (about:preferences).
And Linux on Wayland (e.g., Ubuntu and Fedora Workstation), Firefox now uses system default sharing indicator rather than its own screen sharing indicator.

Most Linux will update Firefox through the system repository, so the best way is just wait and keep your system up-to-date. You’ll get Firefox 117.0 in next few days.
For Ubuntu 22.04 and higher prefer .deb
package, there’s Mozillateam PPA available for choice. Though, you have to set HIGHER priority for that PPA to avoid Snap.
